[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased my cub cadet SC 100 in 2013. It has started every spring on the first pull. It runs all summer trouble free, all I do is check the oil level occasionally (it has never needed more), sharpen the blade and clean off the grass build-up on the underside of the deck. I use it as a mulching mower all season long. The deck wash system never worked well for me. At the end of the season I drain the gas, change the oil, replace the filters, power wash it and do the other things recommended for storage. I have taken it in for service about twice since I bought it. It is one of the best mowers I have ever owned.

Bought this mower due to wanting reliability,but..
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First of all Cub Cadet touts a 3yr warranty, this is a joke as they are quick to lay blame on the consumer for the difficulties they are having, I was told my fresh gas was likely bad gas, same gas that powers my other mower fine, then I might have left gas in it causing the carb needing cleaned which I didn't do, but I cleaned the carb anyway and it sputtered through mowing that day. today, dead again so I can mow the main part with my rider but my fenced in looks like a jungle because the newest mower I own cannot start and the company advertising a 3yr warranty will not fix it.

Excellent purchase
my previous lawnmower provided me long reliable service and it would not die,
but that brand is no longer made, so I was wary about buying a new one....but
after reading reviews of the cub cadet I decided to pull the trigger.....outstanding
performance so far after a half dozen cuts....starts right up, no priming, great wheels
bag is sturdy, cleans easily.....recommend highly!!!

A One Summer Mower
I purchased in 2018 after my Honda rusted out (motor still ran) after 12 years. This mower ran fine for half a Summer, though not a strong mower. In 2019, half way through Summer, it quit one day. I took it apart and cleaned it thoroughly. It ran a few weeks and started running rough. I did a cleaning, again. In 2020, it started fine. A few mowings and it started running rough. I cleaned it all out and ran rough, then died. Really? I say this Signature Cut Series, SC100, 159cc, is junk! I should have purchased a Honda for a few more bucks.

Not recommended for long life
I will have to say I never had issues with starting while Ive owned it but it is under powered and in south florida my grass is thick and it had a hard time cutting it if you let it go a little to long. But my main complaint is the deck at of all the lawn movers ive owned the motor always gets to the point of hard atarting but this lawn mover the deck rusted out bad and it was garage kept and cleaned they need to highly improve this or maybe its made to be a throw away item

Your wasting money on other products!!
I recently purchased the, " Cub Cadet SC 100 HW walk behind". Worth every bit of (my), your hard earn money. Easy to locate in the store. The box it was in, secured, well made. Once opened, one plastic package with four items and the mower. Sorry an incredible piece of machinery. I pulled it out of the box. No flimsy parts to contend with. The metal is real! The plastic parts are extremely durable! The instructions were real easy to follow. Once I put it together, filled it with the supplied oil. Yes! It was included. I filled the tank, and it started with one pull. I have had many lawn mowers and I bought them through convenience and the cheapest I could find. I wasted a lot of money. This was a great investment. You won't get anything better for the money. Pushing it is easy because the wheel base fits the machine. The power this thing has is impeccable. The whole design, durability, and performance the machine provides is great. I write very little reviews on products. But this takes the cake. Thanks Cub Cadet, I will have this for many years to come.

This is the biggest pile I’ve ever owned!
I’ve owned this mower for two years and pretty much have to work on it each time I mow. I’ve had it in the shop twice, cleaned the carburetor a few times myself, the bagger gets clogged at the entrance, I’ve had to replace the blades, and I can’t imagine anyone giving this mower more than one star. I’ve never mowed my lawn more than once in two weeks and am known to the neighbors for going a month (meaning it isn’t overused).
At this point, just considering the money spent and not the countless hours working on this, I could’ve bought a brand new one.

Easy Push
Just bought the SC100 HW to replace a 20+ year old mower. Mowed the first time this week, and was very impressed by how little effort was needed to push the mower compared to my old one. Set to mulch mode and the yard looked incredible. I like this handle compared to some other brand designs, and the 1-pull start is awesome. Zero complaints so far.
