Impossible to replace line
This thing worked great for about 2 weeks. Then the bump line feeder stopped working so of course the line rolled up inside. I opened it up to pull out the line - there was lots left - and then looked at the instructions to replace the line. HAHA it must be a joke. Insert the line through the 'entry eyelet' and push it through the head until it comes out the exit eyelet?? What? I've tried that about 50 times and the line does NOT come out the exit eyelet. I can't even believe those are the instructions. Can anyone reading this help me? The line finds a hole on the side every time and never come through the exit. I'm not sure how you're supposed to get that to work.

This is by far the best string trimmer I have ever had, and not having mix oil and gas is a blessing. It runs very smooth and it is very easy to pull to start it. I have just purchased the SS470, 4 cycle string trimmer and so far it is great.

It's a great weedeater for a man
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the SS 470 Cub Cadet weedeater in exchange for my honest opinion. I'm 5'8", so I'm not short. This weedeater is a little bit too long for me, and also very heavy. If it didn't have a strap with it, there's no way I would have been able to use it. With that being said, it is honestly the best weedeater I've ever used and probably the best one on on the market. It's 4 cycle so the gas and oil don't have to be mixed, and I have always preferred that because it saves time. When I used it on our backyard, it took hardly any time at all. It was fast and easy. But I had to switch the shoulder strap over to my opposite shoulder several times due to the weight of it. I was able to control it fairly well, and putting it together was a breeze. Overall, the Cub Cadet SS 470 is a very good buy for the money, especially for anyone in the lawn care business, as it is fast and efficient.

Powerful, lightweight, works great
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Cub Cadet trimmer is really nice. A quality made product. It’s lightweight, starts easy, cuts good, has plenty of power and it’s reliable. I’ve had it about a month now and haven’t had any issues. It starts up the first time, every time. Trimming the yard is easier with this and takes less time. I’d highly recommend this product. It doesn’t disappoint.

Works and runs great
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had my 470 almost 4 years now.. I love the power it gives.. like any product, parts will wear.. the nice thing about this product is that every part is easily replaceable.. so.. I've had to replace the recoil on year 3..cheap part and easy fix.. then a new head filled with string yet.. $20.. then the clutch/ drive shaft broke.. I even replaced and fixed that.. I hope they keep making the parts as it seems this model can't be bought anymore which is a bummer.. it does look like the 490 is about the same thing for a little more $

High Quality product that gets the job done
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This trimmer is excellent. It took about ten minutes of a learning curve to figure out the right motion, but once you get the hang of it ...it is super easy and fast. i was able to get a nice line on my yard and even do some precision trimming in the flower beds around some bushes. I liked that it didn't stop or get phased by small rocks or pieces of wood. It was extremely powerful and it was extremely easy to use. As a female, I always worry about the weight of the tool, but it wasn't too heavy and i was able to complete my entire yard with no difficulty. Highly recommend. It is a good price for the product. I would recommend this to avid and beginning gardeners.

Pretty good!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This trimmer is lightweight and comes with a strap to make it easier to use. It cuts through weeds quickly and I can edge the grass with it too. I can reach under our trampoline to get the little bit of grass that grows underneath it. I haven't used it for any heavy duty work, but so far it is working well with what I need it for.

I bought this model last fall used it very little the engine is ok and starts great but the string attachment is a piece of garbage’ the second I’ve i used up the line the metel ring that y
The line goes through was gone, then about a week later the other one fell out . So without them the line doesn t load properly. After much anger i gave up and took the trimmer off my old home lite and snapped it in place and it works great so when you buy one of these go to a small engine dealer and get you a used head off a home lite. I ll never buy another one like this.
