Poor deck design
Steer clear of these zero turns. If you have smaller yards, don’t mow frequently and have thinner turf it may be a 3 star. Not that’s it’s a good idea to mow grass that isn’t dry, the fact is sometimes you have no choice. I mow approximately 2 acres and occasionally have to mow 3 times a week. The deck clogs easily and the mower has a tough time in thick grass. I’m pulling deck again, cleaning, preparing and spraying with DuPont Non-Stick Dry Film Lubricant Teflon. I keep blades changed but just ordered new blades. I thought with the size this would handle the job. Spend a little more and get another brand unless Cub has improved design.

Well Pleased
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this zero turn 36 inch mower about a month ago. I did not want a large mower because my yard is not so big. This mower can handle the job just fine, because it maneuvers the tight spots just fine. Just as I was expecting. Great mover, after reading the manual everything just fell in place so nicely. I am truly enjoying this mower so much. I have to say, this was not my first Cub Cadet, I owned one many years ago. And it served me very well for years. The quality of this new mower was not a surprise to me. You can buy one with confidence.

Wet Soil
I bought this a month ago and got it stuck 4 times. Soil is wet. Tires are too narrow sink in the ground. Gas funnel leans to the side, had to get gas in with a regular funnel because of the angle. Gas tank too small. Needs wider tires.

Great Little Mower
I have had this mower a couple of months now and so far does a really nice job on my yard. Maneuvers easily, powers through taller grass as we have had a lot of rain this year. Has cut my lawn mowing time in half. I did buy the mulching kit and that also works well.

Not recommended
Bought the mower 3 months ago, cuts the grass fine when you finally get it started, talked to your service department and they told me to go to a service center 4 weeks to the earliest appt. They told me the carb needs to be cleaned and this isn’t covered under the warranty. I need to start it with the chock on full until I smell gas then leave it for 10 min and it starts right up, have had to charge the battery many times. I would return it and buy another brand if they would take it back!!!!

PTO Issues
We’ve had this mower for a year. It started having PTO issues at the beginning of this year. The service center wanted us to leave it for 4 weeks. They don’t make appointments. We bought the switch. It worked for a month or so now it’s out again. We think it’s the clutch. We’ve had to replace the battery, and you have to crank on it over and over to start it.
The deck is bad about clogging up if the grass isn’t extremely dry.

RZTL54 Fab Deck
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this unit for close to 3 years. Minor issues with drive units and anti friction fluid needing to be added. Mowing speed is average at best, and quality of the mow is average as well. Large paths (full pass) at full speed on normally mowed and maintained lawn leaves a trail of grass. I end up either mowing 2x in different directions or 1/2 pass for the initial mow.

Awesome mower
