Perfect mower

I cut both lawns in the time that ours used to take. I love the easy height adjust pedal. The ability to cut higher while leaving a clean cut is perfect. We have had zero problems from this mower.

Everything you’d want in a zero turn!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had an old and tired lawn tractor that was pretty durable and served me well for quite some time, but it was very uncomfortable. It was very wide, and with bad hips, it was hard to get my legs around it. I am one who truly enjoys mowing. I think if it as more of a hobby than a responsibility…but I was not enjoying it! I was in pain within fifteen minutes. I recently purchased the ZT1 50” with fabricated deck. I cannot wait for Spring! I have been on quite a few zero turns, including commercial ones, and many tractors. This mower has to be in the top two for comfort. The high back seat is extremely comfortable and accommodating. As for the lap bars, I have big hands and find the molded and shaped grips very comfortable as well. The rubber “mat” for your feet is accommodating as well. Overall. The comfort is unmatched. As for other points, I love the Kawasaki engine.. I have had Kawasaki engines in other mowers, and motorcycles. I’ll take a Kawasaki over anything. I opted for the Opti oil program. Which doubles the engine warranty- from 3 years to 6, UNLIMITED hours! Show me another manufacturer with that kind of warranty! As for the deck, the fabricated deck is seemingly very well constructed. The height adjustment is effortless. By pressing the pedal with your right foot, you simply turn the dial to a setting from 1” to 4.5”. Every Modern Cub Cadet I have owned, deck removal is simple and painless. The ZT1 is no different. As for the miscellaneous stuff, I have read comments on the mower not having a gas gauge. I know I can mow my yard three times on a full tank. If I need to see the precise amount in the tank, I just lift the seat up and look at the tank. (?). My personal complaints? I think the mower should come with an hour meter. I did purchase one and installed it before the mower was ever started, but still, it should come with one. In fact, the earlier ZT1’s did. Another “rant”- not a huge deal but I wish the deck spindles had grease fittings. Other points- The mower is stylish, and looks like nothing else on the market. When taking into consideration comfort, ease of use and maintenance, durability, reputation, warranty, and available options, you cannot beat this mower. The ZT2 is even better in many ways, but with my .7 acre lot, I am convinced there is not a better or more practical mower on the market. Thank you, Cub Cadet for an American made, quality product, Also just ordered the mulching kit a couple hours ago, and can’t wait to get it!

Finally took the leap and purchased my ZT1 50 what a huge upgrade! Cut my seat time in half. There are some simple upgrades I made to this mower but so far I love it!

Absolute Necessity!!!

I highly recommend accessorizing with a power grader for your driveway, a pull behind cart, as well as a snow plow. I just power graded my driveway and the Kawasaki motor didn't strain a bit. Well done on this one Cub cadet!!!

Would not run right out of the box.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got a new ZT1 50” still in the shipping crate. Would crank but not run for more than 2 second before cut off. Performed a diagnostic check and traced to bad ignition switch. When I pulled the cover off the control, the switch had a plastic locking tab broken.
Seat does not have a restraint cable so it lays on the front frame when open for cleaning and battery access. Design of frame allows a lot of debris to get under the seat in the battery/ relay area. This and the top of the deck are difficult to clean.
Once we got a new switch and completed the assembly the mower ran great and did a very nice job on lawn. Deck adjustments are simple, controls are good, deck is very heavy duty compared to a stamped deck.
Overall the quality is above average. Some components are cheaply made as with the all plastic ignition switch and poorly designed cleaning accessibility. Still does a great job mowing. Hopefully it will prove to be long lasting and durable unit.

I don’t have any great features 1st yrs z turn.

Beautiful Machine

Speed doesn't kill
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have about 2acres that I mow. I have a residential 50 in. Cub zero turn and it would take about 2hrs. With this model I'm done within an hour. It takes me longer to clean the mower when I'm done.

I bought an Ultima zt1 about three years ago and have got maybe 12 mows out of it tops. The belts constantly fall off, the deck fell off, the battery died after barely any use, and now my throttle is out. It's a horrifically bad lawn mower
