[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Works OK. The issue is that it doesn't stay tightly attached and gets a lot of grass stuck in the gaps and you need to manually remove it. Will modify with a few drilled holes and Zip ties.

Missing a Piece
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This kit needs the metal rod the kits from a few years ago had. It connects by the wing nut to hold the back of the blocking plate in place. If that was included, would rate this 5 stars.

A good option
Based on the reviews I expected there to be more issues with the cover but it worked just fine. Overall happy with the package, it does leave a little windrow down the middle when I used at at 3in deck height no matter what speed I went.

I bought this at the start of the mowing season. The plug sucks. Never really sealed very good to the deck. Now its popping out of the deck blowing grass straight out of the deck. Blades seem fine but deck plug really bad Quality.

Works fine and delivered on time

Mulching kit inferior
The “plug” doesn’t fit or seal very well. Lots of grass and dust comes through it. I drilled holes to use electrical tie-wraps to snug it up. Also used tape and foam sealer. Haven’t had it very long so will see how it goes.

Le gazon sort car le couvercle ne s,ajuste pas bien , c,est un problème connu et qui ne se règle pas.Pourquoi avoir changé la lame pour un modèle avec un S au centre à la place d,une étoile plus standard et moins chère?

Mulching Blade Review

Easy to use/assemble. Cuts grass good and chops leaves good when not a large amount. If ground is covered with leaves, then two passes are needed, and then leaves are gone. Haven’t used it in long grass.

wrong mulching plug.
The mulching plug sold by cub cadet is the old one that was for A stamped deck. It is worthless when mounted to the fabricated deck of my 2024 46 inch ultima deck. Where can I get one for the fab deck?

Far less than expected for the price
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first Cub Cadet riding mower (XT2 LX46). Have always owned orange riding mowers and have been mostly pleased but there are service issues now in the area so decided to try Cub Cadet. I never gave much thought to the orange mower mulch plug but after experiencing the plug of the Cub Cadet Xtreme Mulching Kit I have a greater appreciation for the orange mower design. Namely, it worked. The Cub Cadet mulch plug by design is poor. Fit is loose, cut grass blows out at several places causing grass clippings to accumulate on the deck unnecessarily, and it leaves a streak of cut grass behind. I, like others per recorded reviews, have made several alterations to it to make it perform to my expectations. My research prior to purchase was only into the mower specifications and subsequent performance reviews. The only thought on the mulching kit was that it seemed expensive but I am committed to mulching. So, please tell me Cub Cadet that you are engineering an improved more effective design of your mulch plug that we will see soon.

The blades are fine but this has got ot be the worst Mulching cover i have ever had to use. A very small pice of plact holds the left side in place and pops open all the time

OK but could be better.
It does a reasonable job of mulching but the plug doesn't fit very well. The poor fit causes the chute deflector not to fully close so it rubs on the deck idler wheel.

Easy to install but as others have mentioned it does not fit as tight as I would have liked. Grass build up by the plug needs a tighter fit or a different design.

Needs improvement
Plug seems to be right size, however grass clippings pile up along the bottom forcing the plug upwards, and clippings also escape thru the top. Do not recommend.
