I bought the mulch kit 2 years ago. I agree with others that have said the cover doesn’t fit very well. It’s not tight and leaves a gap and grass either goes through the opening or clogs it up.

MUST HAVE for your Cub Cadet 42 inch mower.
Absolutely pulverizes the grass clippings into tiny pieces. There's very little clumping unless your grass is damp, but this is the best mulching kit on the best mower I've ever owned.

Dull from factory
The blades came dull though that was the way they were designed so I put them on thy draw 3x the power then the cutting blades. Check if drawing to much power thy need sharpening

Mulches better than expected
Installed fairly easily. Opted to lift frontend instead of removing entire assembly. Mulches so well you cant find any grass clippings except where it blows onto driveway.

The blades are extremely dull. When you cut the grass it doesn’t matter how slow you drive it looks horrible and have to remove due to the blades not cutting correctly.
