Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cub cadet [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The cub cadet lawn mower is a wonderful invention. The lawn mower allowed me to cut my grass in 30minutes. It usually takes me 2hours to cut my grass. I have already told my family and friends about the product and they are going to be purchasing the product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Machine, Tackles My Hill with Ease [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I spent months researching to find a zero turn that could handle my hill with a 20-degree slope. I had to keep coming back to the ZTS1 42 because it was the only ZT that can handle a 20-degree slope. I know Cub Cadet makes a quality product and this machine does not disappoint, plenty of power, and a beautiful cut. The cost of this mower is a lot less than a knee replacement. There are a few quality control issues with the paint application and I wish the hour meter was included instead of an add-on but otherwise the mower is perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect lawn mower! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This lawn mower has made my lawn look better than ever! The grass is perfect every time I use it. The steering wheel is simple to use to maneuver the lawn mower around obstacles such as my kids swing set and trampoline. The seat is cushioned and nice to sit on. The frame is strong and the wheels are rugged and will for sure handle lots of use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ZTS1 42” Cub Cadet [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve owned this mower for a couple of months now. I must say it is well built and does a fantastic job on my lawn! Easy to operate and the V-twin Kohler handles all my needs. The zero-turn capability with a tractor maneuvering on slopes, hills is outstanding. Only down fall is that it doesn’t come with an hourly meter for the price you paid. I went out and got one from the local dealership $50. If you’re looking for a good residential zero turn, this is it! Very happy with this purchase!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cub Cadet XTS1 42 [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] WOW what a great mower, I put a suicide knob on the steering wheel. I have St. Augustine grass that's very thick which makes it difficult to keep turning my other tractor. I need two artificial shoulders, with this mower I'm not sore the next day and it makes it very easy for me to turn around obstacles. Thank you so much.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love mowing again! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a pretty big grassy area at a lot I own that I have to keep maintained in addition to the lawn at my house so I’m very well versed on zero turn mowers. Now I have to state upfront I am a Cub Cadet fan and have been for many years so getting the Ultima ZTS1 42” zero turn mower didn’t even require a second thought, that said lets cut to the chase and get into this mower. Shipping packing/de-crating – The ZTS1 comes fully plastic wrapped strapped to a custom built wooden protective frame. This shipping frame is quite large as it must contain the full mower, keep note of that should you intend to pickup and transport it yourself, in my case the unit was delivered by a trucking company. The frame did it’s job well as the unit had zero defects that I could find after de-crating. To de-crate you will need a nut driver and drill as well as a straight claw hammer or, as I used, a crowbar. First I removed the lag bolts on both ends of the craft and then crow-barred off the sides. Once down to a bare frame I cut the three straps holding the unit to the crate bottom (the crate in my case sits on top of an additional pallet) and WITH HELP (the unit weighs approximately 600lbs) lift and push the unit off the crate bottom. NOTE do not try and drive the unit off the crate, it’s easy to tell this won’t work but I am sure that someone will try, trust me, get a couple of people and work it off. Assembly – Assembly was a breeze as the unit came 99% assembled. Once off the crate I located the manuals and parts bag then got to work with the couple of items that needed to be installed before use. Note that the key is zip tied to the discharge chute deflector and includes a small quick ref card which was a nice touch. I checked the oil level as well as the tire pressure, note that the tires were at various inflation levels but all above the level indicated on the tire, make sure to deflate to the appropriate PSI. I then hooked up the battery and filled the fuel tank. Note that you need to use regular gasoline or, a maximum of ethanol 10 either at 87 octane, I am calling this out as ethanol 15 is common in some areas. Use – The ZTS1 fired up almost immediately with the choke on and quickly came to a nice even idle. I don’t know if it is me or just that my old zero turn is louder but the Ultima ZTS1 seems at least a little quieter than my 7 yr old Cub. The controls should be familiar to anyone that has used a zero turn mower except the steering wheel, I know everyone is used to the directional control levers but the steering wheel is just as responsive, even if it takes a few laps to get used to. I think it took maybe four passes to quickly get some dexterity using the steering wheel but it quickly became second nature. Now as for the features lets dive in (note I will probably leave some off as it’s these that come to mind after my first use), I love the LED headlights, they really light the way in low light well. The steering wheel tilt is very nice and has a great range BUT the lever leaves something to be desired. The deck height knob is nice and it’s easy to select the desired height, and in my opinion, is much nicer to use than the lever type I have on my old Cub. The deck height range is more than sufficient from 1.0” to 4.25”. The transmission is super responsive to all inputs and lends to very precise maneuvering. All in all I am in love with the ZTS1 and am ready after the first use to retire my old Cub to my dad. My Final thoughts on the Cub Cadet ZTS1 42” is that, as I have come to expect from Cub Cadet, it is a cut above and them some from the competition. Everything from the intuitive control locations and layout to the precision of the steering, the ZTS1 brought the enjoyment back into mowing that I felt with my first zero turn, and as I have learned with Cub Cadet the ZTS1 will be mowing with me for many years to come!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceptional Residential Mower [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have found that this mower fits all of my residential needs. I have a ~1.5 acre mowing area and this has reduced my cutting time significantly. The Kohler 22 HP engine has plenty of get up and go. My old mower, a standard lawn tractor of the same deck width & 3 less HP, would cut both my front and back lawns in about 56 minutes. This z-turn with the added speed and agility cuts both sections in about 33 minutes total. It was absolutely mind blowing how fast and clean the cuts with this machine are. I have read and watched many reviews of the Cub Cadet mowers and many people have complained about the deck rattling too much. I have not found this to be noticeable at all. Others have assumed that the open style frame with the uncovered tires could leave you with damp arms from over spray if cutting in the rain. This was not my experience during a rainy cut. It has run flawlessly. The only hesitation worth mentioning is the seat suspension. My yard is a little bumpy and I find myself slowing down quite a bit so as not to shake my back up. My recommendation is that if you have a bumpy lawn, look into seat suspension kits. While my lawn is bumpy, it is not necessarily hilly. My understanding is that for properties with steep sloping embankments, you are best off with this steering wheel style of z-turn as opposed to the more common lap-bar steering. The controllability is more akin to a traditional lawn tractor, whereas a lap-bar style of steering struggles in this environment. If you are considering one of the new Cub Cadet zero turn mowers, I can say that my experience has been very positive and I highly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Zero Turn! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This riding lawn mower is amazing. The zero turn is no joke and the ride is smooth. It is easy to start, easy to turn and easy to run. The only note I have is for my husband's 6'3 frame, the seat could go back a touch farther making the pedal more comfortable. We still love this mower!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ZTS1 42 inch [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The ZTS1 is an amazing mower. I have had zero turns in the past. This is the best one by far. It tracks and turns on hills with accuracy. I always feel confident with the steering wheel. Also, stripes very well. Clean lines that look great. Best ZTR on the market by far!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very well designed and engineered! Great job! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First off I have to say how amazed and excited I am that I was actually able to get this because from what I have heard, riding lawnmowers are very hard to get right now and this one specifically shows out of stock everywhere I’ve looked atleast locally to me. I will start by saying this is my first riding lawnmower (Incase I get any of the terminology wrong or leave something out of this review that the pros think should have been included) and I wish I didn’t wait so long to get one because with the added speed and maneuverability of this mower I have reduced my cutting time significantly. It has blown my mind how fast I can get my yard done now and the results are amazing, even my neighbors agree! I do not have any experience with the lap-bar zero turn mowers so I cannot compare this to those ones but I can tell you that this works just as good if not better than what I’ve seen in videos of that type of mower and actually better because it’s much easier using a steering wheel. The ride on this ZTS1 is so smooth and comfortable to ride I can’t believe it. I always just assumed that most riding lawnmowers were uncomfortable and had a lot of shaking and rattling going on but I get none of that with this. It feels to me that everything on this mower is made of high quality materials and just feels really solid when I am riding it. It also responds well to doing anything I try to do meaning when I want to go faster I push the pedal down and it goes, when I want to stop I let off the pedal and it stops, when I want to back up I stop and use the reverse pedal and it backs up. I know you are thinking that it’s just doing what it’s supposed to do I’m just saying that it’s very responsive and quick to react to the things you want it to do. When I sit down in the seat it just feels great! All the controls are positioned perfectly and are easy to use like the steering wheel adjuster, the speed control adjuster that moves from choke to turtle and rabbit speeds, the parking brake and the deck height adjuster. I also no longer have to ask my kids to go out and cut the grass, they volunteer to do it now! The only thing I am missing that I wish I had is a bagger for it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am taller . 6’5” and have lots of hills. It is perfect. This is a game changer for mowing. I like to be able to have a hand free for a drink too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love My Zero Turn Mower [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I can't believe I waited so many years to purchase this mower. The zero turn is absolutely phenomenal. I live in a hilly terrain and this mower will go where my riding tractor wouldn't taking a lot of work out of mowing. I can mow in less time and less work with this mower. The only vise I have with this mower is the grass clippings are to big and I can resolve that problem with a mulching kit. I don't like the discharge chute on the side because you can't get close to something on that side. A better design would be the discharge chute more uniform to the deck. The 22hp Kohler has plenty of power and does not hesitate on hills. My old 15 hp Kohler is 30 years old and other than replacing some parts outside the engine block its been a great motor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received my Kohler 7000 series two weeks ago. I'm here to tell you it's made of high quality steel. It really cuts good and left my yard looking great. It has a very comfortable seat, rides very smooth. I love everything about this zero turn riding lawn mower. There's only one thing that I wished it had, and that's where it shows how many hours it has been used. Other then that you can't go wrong with this lawnmower.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ZTS1 42 [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I ordered this on line about a week ago. I noticed autofill added the wrong phone number so the next day I called up the dealer that was going to deliver it and let them know about the phone number and to give them the correct number. they call me back about 2hr later and ask if the could deliver it because they were going to deliver another mower close to me , I said yes. So I ordered it and they delivered it the next day. what more can you ask for. the guy was unloading the mower. now this thing is on the trailer. He starts it up and backs up a little bid and just spins it around on the trailer then drives it off. I have been using it now it's just a really great mower. I also have XT2 42 which is a very good mower. but that ZTS1 42 is just over the top . the only thing I can say bad about it is it should have came with the hour meter. Not too much of a problem I just bought the hour meter kit and put it on my self. about the gas gauge I don't see why you need one you can just look at the gas tank and see how much gas you have . Hands down this is the mower . love the steering wheel because you have more control over the mower not drifting in the front on hills.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First Zero Turn and Loving It! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This 42 inch is perfect for my house that sits on a little under an acre. I've mowed a few times and each time, I love it more! Start up is flawless and immediate with lots of power (but manageable power, I never feel out of control). The seat is comfortable, and the controls are easy to use, and I love the options for blade cutting in smaller increments.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Mower I have EVER owned! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This mower has me kicking myself for not buying one SOONER! Rugged Construction paired with ease of operation = a WIN WIN! For what you get, this is one of the BEST values on the market. I needed a smaller deck to get around everything in the yard, and this thing passes with flying colors!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Mower [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This mower is amazing. Right out of the crate I could tell this was a work horse. To begin the 22 hp Kohler engine is strong. It fires right up. Just turn the keys and your off. The best part about this mower is the ease of control. I’ve never driven a zero turn with a steering wheel before. However I think Cub Cadet knocked it out of the park. The steering is much better controlled and easier in my opinion. You still have the control of a zero turn but the simplicity of a garden tractor. Speed is perfect. My lawn features some difficult grade and it was no match for this mower. This mower also seemed to cut and mulch well. The only feature I wish was included is an hour meter. It seems every mower of this quality has one. I am not sure why the meter was not included. Overall I’m quite impressed by the performance and build quality of this machine. This should be very useful for years to come!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like this mower, it is exactly what I was looking for as my lawn has inclines that a normal mower cannot handle. This one handles it with ease and in half the time which is a huge advantage. I was wondering about the front wheels they are at a slight angle, is that normal?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So Far, So Great! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Since I have only used the mower a few times, I rate 4 stars. If the mower continues to perform as it has so far, it will be a 5 star. Conversely, if I have issues with maintenance or discover other issues the rating could drop....but I am very pleased so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the Ultima zero turn [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It works better than advertise it turns on a dime really unbelievable and with having the zero turn with the additional steering it doesn't touch your grass at all it does not rip up your grass so that's an added plus over standard zero turns

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Mowing getting a little easier [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Decided to get a riding mower that mulches instead of using my walk behind 21" mulching mower (to keep my wife from yelling at me now that I'm in my 70s). Only used it twice so far but impressed with its handling, speed, and maneuverability. I have an acre lot with a lot of different grades and slopes. So far so good on handling the terrain. I don't like the feature that stops the PTO when using reverse particularly since you need to reset the PTO each time. So I use the override feature. For the area of future improvements I would recommend a heavy focus on deck design. First area would be the mulching guard. It's too cumbersome to install and not well designed where it installs with ease and with a good fit. The bigger challenge is redesigning the underside of the deck so as to minimize/eliminate cut grass accumulating, in some areas over a 1/2" thick. Not good for the long term life of the deck as this is not readily accessible to clean.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superior mower! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Couldn’t be happy with my recent purpose of the Ultima ZTS1 42”! One of the main reasons I chose the steering wheel was for the steep hill in my from yard. This mower handles the hill no problem. I give this machine 5 stars!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Machine [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Good machine, but some little thorns punctured the tires on the first day. So, I lined the tire with a layer of foam on the inside and added a tube. It was my fault, but You could consider. Nothing will stop us now!
