Poorly Designed
The molded plug doesn't seal so grass spews out until it becomes plugged with grass. The blades don't cut correctly. There is always a line of grass left uncut so I have to go back over it again. I ended up reinstalling the original blades. It's poorly Designed and a waste of money!

Mulching kit
Mulching kit hasn’t worked well for me. Bad design with only one attached bolt which allows the mulching kit to be pushed out from the deck and then the blades shredded the rest of the kit apart. Leaks real bad and doesn’t seem to fit well either. I see all the bad reviews and cub cadet says they take our comments to help engineer a better product. I havnt seen a new or improved mulching kit yet? What’s up with that?

Horrible mulch kit for the XT1 Enduro Series 50”
I have to unclog the deck each cut due to the mulch kit. This CubCadet has been a horrible experience. Miss my John Deere.

Should have bought a Deer from
One of the single worst purchases ever.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this for my ZT150. The blades themselves are mediocre at best. The plug however is abosolute trash. It fits so poorly I swore I got the wrong part and that it was desgined for a completely different mower. The plugs is loose, the locating pin falss out, and the entire plug itself fits so poorly that after 15 minutes of use it leaves about a 3/4" gap that allow grass clippings to fly out all over the place. Cuc Cadet should redesign this plug and offer a credit to all of the suckers who shelled out money for this. I'll try and add photos when I get home just so you all can see how poorly this pieceis made.

Don’t ignore the reviews
I’m struggling to remember a product in recent years that is as poorly designed as this. I can’t find a single positive thing to say about it. The blades mulch terribly and you can actually hear the clumps of uncut grass banging around under the deck before falling down on your lawn. The post that is intended to hold the mulching plug in place is too short to insert into the deck. You can see it in the photos. I should have listened to the reviews before buying this product. Save your money. Your lawn is supposed to look better after mowing it but if use this product don’t count on it. If I could give 0 stars I would.

Waste of $$$$
Bought two sets of mulching blades. Agree with all others. Blocker doesn't seal off the deck. Clumps way too easily. Leaves stripes of uncut grass. Going back to stock blades and putting the chute back on.
Chute is too wide too! Need to make the chute fit the width of the mower.

Plug Engineered Backwards
Tried to use this Kit for two seasons. I won't comment on the blade quality. What I WILL say is the adapter plug is designed Bass Akwards. It simply can not mount in the proper position. The result is a build-up of clippings, leaving a trail, most prominent when moving in reverse. If you don't frequently Clean-Out in reverse, the default is for the discharge to spray upward, onto the Operator and directly into the pulleys and belts above the deck.

I would give this 0 stars if I could
This is not worth the $109 I paid for it. If I had know this mulch kit would cover me with grass and dust I would never have bought it. There are different mulch kits for smaller and larger fabricated desks, why not one for this one. Also why is there not a cover for the holes in the deck where the pulleys are. Grass just flies up through them. This is a total ripoff.

Does not mulch
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I also love the tractor but this mulching does not mulch. It leaves a line of grass clumps in the lawn and the deck constantly clogs with grass. I have to mow my yard three times every week if I want my yard to look nice. I had to go back to the discharges blades with a lawn sweeper to pick up the grass. I would have purchase a apt her tractor if I knew how bad the mulching performance was so poor.

Bad plug design
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this kit about a year and it has never worked properly. The plug does not seal to the deck so as soon as I start cutting, grass blows out of the hole where the deck plug does not seal and sprays the mower operator with mulched grass clippings. Eventually, the grass clippings will accumulate in the hole and other crevices and seal the hole, but not before covering everything with grass clippings and dust. After cutting I take the plug out and at least a few pounds of grass clippings are in all the cracks and crevices. I have adapted a piece of flooring that I use to plug the hole in the plug. Why can't Cub Cadet engineers figure out how to fix this problem?
In addition to the bad plug design the blades have worn down and need to be replaced after just a short time of use.

Poor quality mulch plug
I can't speak for the blades as the dealer I bought my mower from recommended keeping the stock blades on, and just sold me the plug part. As for the mulch plug it is cheaply made and poorly designed. The material is thin plastic which allows the force from the grass and debris the mower pushes out to force the plug the pop open. This causes dirt and debris to blow all over the mower and driver. First time I used it I was covered in a nice layer of dust. That was when I realize the plug wasn't staying closed. The way they have the pin angled allows for it to easily slide out of the hole. Other plugs I have used for other mowers the pin or rod is curves or at a side angle to prevent this. Rather disappointing from a manufacturer you would expect high quality parts from. I might have to see if I can bend the pin or rod so it stays in better.

Useless Mulching Kit
I bought an Ultima ZT1 with 50" deck and have loved it from day one. I bought the mulching kit #19A30041100 last summer in hopes that it would improve the mower even more and it was a complete disappointment. The plug fits ok but pushes out of place due to the grass clippings clogging up in the plug. I have to constantly pull the plug off to clean out the pile of clippings. If not it will begin to leave a line grass clippings through the yard. Most of the grass ends up piled on the mower deck as well rather than finely mulched and left in the yard. Standard blades that came with the mower are much better than the Extreme blades, may use the standard with the mulch plug to see if it makes a difference. Hope Cub Cadet comes out with different blades or a new design.

Does not fit XT1 LT50 - don’t waste time trying!
I don’t understand why you would market an item that you obviously didn’t test for fit. The mounting rod on the side doesn’t reach long enough to fit the mounting hole on the deck wheel. The thru holes on the plug, don’t line up with the deck bolts. Epic fail. I love my XT1. It is a beast! It has the Koehler engine before Cub Cadet switched to the current Chinese motor. Another marketing failure.

Got the job done
I was skeptical of buying this mulch kit because of the reviews however I had to do something to take care of all the leaves in our yard. The kit was easy enough to install and fit relatively easy on the 50 inch fabricated deck. The only real issue I have found at this point is that the spindle holes on the deck are large enough for debris to come through the holes. This may not seem like a big issue however if you’re mulching a lot of leaves and or grass it is my suspicion that the added heat due to the debris could wear out the bearings on the spindles quicker if not cleaned frequently possibly even before the job is complete. Overall it got the job done in the yard looked as good or better than before.

Terrible
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I hate to even write this post but this mulching kit does not live up to the hype. The blades are thick but not very sharp. I do agree the original blades cut better but are terrible as far as durability. Im debating whether it's even worth using.

Mulching kit for XT-1 50" rider
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this when I purchased the mower a few years ago. Unless you're willing to modify the kit with drilling holes and using extra nuts and bolts or zip ties don't bother as this will not stay in place and the grass clippings work themselves out of every opening. The area will jam up with grass and you can hear the blade clipping the edge of the clog all the time. I've purchased some aluminum sheeting and will fashion my own so it will work. Cub Cadets engineers should be ashamed of themselves.

Returning this item
For once I tried to read a set of instructions, because I could not figure out how to install the plug and remove the grass chute. The one page instruction sheet did show me how to wrest the plug in place, but did not show how to remove the grass chute and I still don't think it is possible. I love my new mower but this part is being returned.

Terrible cut
I replaced my old John Deere with the ZT1 50 last year. Installed the mulch kit when I received the mower. Cut quality is terrible. Always leaves a strip between the blades and chunks of grass all over the lawn. Used my neighbors mower to cut the lawn and looked great. Love the mower but this mulch kit sucks. Cub cadet needs to figure this out.

Mulching kit for 50" deck
Bought the kit and changed blades with no problem. Then I tried to install the mulching plug...tried and tried and no success. It does not seem physically possible to insert the plug as the shape of the plug and the shape of the discharge opening dont matchj up and the tall ribs on the top of the plug prevent it from going into the opening. I looked at several YouTube videos and they show a completly different plug. Part # 19A30041100 is listed as fitting the 50" deck but I cant make it work. Very disappointing...

Sadly disappointed
Bought this at the end of September and am very disappointed. The installation instructions are not that great and the fit is terrible for a 50in fabricated deck. This looks to be made for a stamped deck, not a fabricated one... As some of the US reviewers point out, there are gaps in the fit of this product and the mulched material blows up through the gaps or clogs up the mulch plug. More than one pass is needed to mulch without leaving a stripe of material down one side of the path - whether grass or leaves. Doubt this will work when the grass is thick in the summer. With this accessory in palce the regular chute gets in the way. It is just not a good Cub Cadet accessory for this otherwise awesome mower. I will be removing it before the spring cutting season begins.

Looks like a toddler cutting their own bangs
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After being tired of the excess clippings resulting from just blowing them out the side on my ZTS1 50" I thought the Extreme Mulch Kit would be my answer. After one mowing, including leveling the deck beforehand, I am taking it all off and putting the stock blades back on. The lawn is embarrassing. I even double-cut it, checkerboard style. The gaps it misses are laughable, and three days later there are still stripes of cut grass clumps on the entire lawn. At least without the mulched the clippings would blow and spread out some, so they weren't noticeable after a watering or two. But beyond the strips of cut grass, the tall stripes of uncut grass are the reason I'm giving this 1 star and uninstalling it. Waste of money.

Mulching kit 60”
A year later and nothing has changed. Zt 1 series mower is great! The mulching kit is garbage. Tough to install, does for the deck properly, many gaps left open, and bladed do not mulch properly leaving clumps in the yard and clumps build up in the “ fabricated “ deck

Same as all of the other one star reviews. Even with cutting twice a week there are still lines, clumps and an overall very poor cut from this mulching system. The cut quality with the standard side discharge is by far better. Do not buy this product.

Poor Design
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just bought this and it very simply clicks on which seems desirable. The problem is it's not at all secure and when mulching the clippings push the mulching kit to where it bulges upward and defeats the purpose. I drilled a small hole in the mulcher and secured it to the deck and it now seems stable. This kit was clearly not properly designed and tested and the plastic material is cheap.

Easy to Install, Works Great
I was skeptical of buying this kit because of all the bad reviews. But most of them are old. CC must have corrected the problems. This kit works just fine. Installation was pretty easy. I have a jack to lift the mower so I could easily see which pattern the blades are. (Star) The plug fit perfectly after cleaning the grass build up off the inside of the deck. Overall I'm very happy with the results.

Good deal.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had to call after it was delivered only sent part of the kit. Lady at customer service was great and got it fixed asap. It was easy install but on the fabricated deck it leaves a hole where grass blows upon the mower as you use it. I just cut a piece of aluminum and taped it over the hole. Works great now. They really should look into that.
