Product Reviews

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding Bagger Kit [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This bagger definitely fits the Ultima ZT1 54”. It’s never as easy to install as the YouTube videos lead one to believe but definitely doable within 45 minutes. I normally don’t mow wet grass but had to mow slightly wet. Never got clogged and performed better than expected. Install the hinge rod from left side and make sure the lid tabs are inside bracket tabs. Bolt front weights together before mounting to front of deck. Don’t forget to remove chute and tube if you’re gonna use deck washer. Trust me. BLUF, awesome product and worth the money. Enjoy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Yikes, thin, cheap plastic terrible instructions I’m just piling on from the other bad reviews. Had I known it was so cheaply built I wouldn’t have bought it. It’s a lot of money for bad engineering and terrible instructions for the 50" zt2. YOU DO NOT NEED THE CHUTE ADAPTER, INSTRUCTIONS ARE WRONG. It fits over the bolt in the deck you just have to be patient but the directions tell you you need the adapter and I spent two hours figuring out I didn’t. I have a shop and work on vehicles all the time, For the price this should be redesigned and fix the horrible instructions. I had the 2518 for 18 years with the bagger and it was well designed so I have some experience here.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Triple clogger [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm incredibly disappointed with this product. It clogs so easily and to the point that I've taken the bagger off. I would not recommend this purchase. I'd love to return mine but would rather just not deal with the hassle of repackaging and shipping etc. Installation wasn't difficult but there were some steps that did get confusing due to multiple configurations, for example there is a step that lists steps for the 54" and 60" fabricated decks and different steps dor 50/54/60" stamped decks. I have a 50" fabricated deck. I figured it out but it was less than clear.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well but could be improved [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Recently moved and with the sheer volume of leaves we're now battling, quickly decided to add a bagger to our ZT2 50". Pros: - Good volume; the three bag setup means each individual bag can be a little smaller than a double setup making them easier to handle when full. - Works well with the stock blades and provides good "suction". Only experienced one clog but that was due to running a little too fast and the bags being nearly full. Cons: - Overpriced for what it is IMHO - VERY slow to ship/deliver to the dealership! - The bagger support stanchion bolts to the "hangar" bar on the mower, making installation and removal a pain. Swapped out the bolt for a 5/16" ball-lock pin (1/2" long) and a fender washer that is not perfect but it makes swapping the bagger on and off simpler and no need for tools. I will likely drill out the mounting hole to 3/8" and get a bigger ball-lock pin to remove the slop that's present with the current solution... Overall, this is a solid product but as mentioned quite overpriced. I'd more readily recommend this at a $300 price. Additionally, Cub Cadet should seriously re-evaluate the bolt-on aspect of the bagger, especially at this price point.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible bagger, save the $700 for something else. The mower is the best mower I've ever owned, The bagger is the worst I've ever owned. I've used the bagger twice and ended up finishing the lawn without the bagger both times. The first time the grass started coming out a gap between the cover and the plastic piece that connects to the chute. I stuffed a rag in the gap and then when I opened the lid to empty the grass, the cover fell off the rod that's used for the hinge and then the rod bent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fit's ZT1 54" like a charm! Pictures included Even though the website and manual say that this triple bagger doesn't fit the ZT1 series, I can confirm with pictures that it does. I was wary at first but it does fit. So glad I took the chance and went with the triple bagger.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 60 in bagger [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product i am really un pleased with.. it was over 600 dollars and the lid frequently pop open while mowing and i have an extremely flat yard so that is very dis satisfying for sure. cub cadet really dropped the ball on the hinge design the hinge rod never stays in place where it was designed to sit. also there are no hose clamps on the discharge tube and it has rattled of twice on me. now that i know the faults of this i am constantly checking it while mowing. very discouraging and i have been contemplating filing a complaint for a refund because for the price i should not have to keep putting it back together to finish a mow. Do not purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bagger. ZT1 50” mower [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used the bagger a few weeks now and I think it performs great. I wanted to write this review because I am not sure if cub cadet changed the design or something but I have seen no reason why this bagger would warrant a 1 star review. I have not had any clogging problems and glad I went with the triple bagger for the extra capacity. The front weight works great for weight balance even on steeper terrain. The only thing that I would change is how the flexible part of the chute goes into the bagger, it takes some extra time if you don’t want to bag any grass in areas to remove everything. If you are looking for a bagger this one is a great option.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Happy so far! Works well. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I live in a neighborhood with 60+ year old oaks and maples. This attachment makes cleaning up the leaves easy on my ZT2. I was surprised how fast it fills up, so most of the time is spent off the mower emptying the bags, but it sure beats raking. I also go through far fewer lawn bags since the leaves are mulched. I've never experienced the clogging issue as long as I don't overfill it as far as leaves go, and I don't have issues with the bags falling out either. Installation is fairly involved, and the instruction need to be followed carefully, as some of the steps are very specific and can change depending on which model Ultima you have. Once you're done using it for the season, I recommend leaving the brackets for the counterweights on (remove the weights themselves of course) and the rear bracket that the bag holder bolts on to as well. This makes setting everything up again come next season a breeze. There's a lot of reviews about design and quality. I am a bit concerned about longevity myself... I am surprised the clip that secures the lid hasn't broken off yet; securing it was finicky even when it was brand new. The rod that the lid pivots on and the slots that it slides through all could have been better thought out and implemented. For those complaining about the rod falling out of that TINY last notch, it's probably in backwards. The more tapered end should not be the end that meets that notch. I'd love to see an updated version of this come out addressing some of the shortcomings, with a more sturdy and better designed lid assembly. I'd buy it. Last thing.. half the reviews on here are people mentioning how it FITS their ZT1 despite it not being a supported model. Is nobody questioning anything other than fitment? Perhaps the transmission isn't rated for all of the added weight. Maybe there's a correlation between people who experience the clogging issue and use the entry level Ultima. I don't know, but I'd want to know what Cub Cadet has to say before going off of a review saying "it fits".

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Bagger [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great bagger for my ZT154, Although it is designed for quick removal the bolts are only setup to be removed by wrench, also while not using the bagger the front counterweight causes the rear wheels to slip some. I had paid additional for UPS delivery and product still came by Freight and required to be home for delivery.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Just ok, and needs improving Overall it works fine, but is ridiculously too small. I literally can’t get more than 4-5 minutes mowing anywhere near trees and its full of leaves. It’s made well enough, the install instruction images are about 1/4 of the size they should be. I like it, but the bags are too short, and too small a diameter to do the job.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good bagger!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This a very good bagger. It helped cut down on the number of times I would have to stop and empty a push mower bagger. It does fits my 2021-2022 ZT1 Zero Turn mower very well. Try it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Three is better than two [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a 50 in deck and the double bagger seemed to fill too quickly. I mow about 5 acres every week and the extra bag should save me a ton of time

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Clean up simple I bought this triple 3 years ago. Mainly for fall cleanup on 3 acres. First the only thing to make better would be a pin hole on long keep rod top keep top stable. Which I just drilled in both ends put small pin and washer and hasn't gave anymore trouble. See reviews that say it clogs , sure will with wet or damp grass. Dry is no problem. It's a great leaf vacuum and suggest using hight lift blades for better suction. As far as the tube stopping up when full, just like any tool you have to learn to use it. I leave my wing nut off the chute to mower, them when I go to long and it starts muching out the bottom of mower deck I know I waited to long to empty. No problem just pull flex hose loose from deck chute, without wing not on and lift and shake grass out , and clear bags and go. Love this bagger!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works as promised. Needs a fix for the hinge pin. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this bagger for my XT1-GT50 in hopes of making the leaf pick up easier. Over the course of three weeks I will fill the bags 15 to 20 times. Works great and much better than what I was using. However, the hinge pin needs to be re-designed. It continually works out of the last support and the tops comes loose. I paid a premium price for this product and this shouldn't happen. There should be a better design.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed Save your money, it doesn’t work. Very poorly designed. Not enough airflow to send the leaves up. Constantly clogs. Cannot attach the chute to the deck without taking it completely apart from tubing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from If you need a mower that bags, DO NOT BUY!!! I've been mowing for over 20 years. Grew up on land, now I have my own 11 acres. This is the single worst piece of lawn equipment I've ever owned or even used. It sprays clippings everywhere. Out the sides, out the front, out the back. It's basically just taking the grass and spreading it over your lawn, like a less effective version of mulching. The rod that holds the lid on is not held in place by anything, so the lid does not fit properly. It turns the entire bagger into basically a blower that shoots grass out. I've owned some really cheap products in my life but they at least work to spec most of the time. This thing literally can'teven get the 3 bags full of grass, I don't get how something like this could be released to the public. Cub cadet needs to make this right for all the people who bought a non functioning product, this is unreal.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst Manual and Instructions! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am novice when it comes to assembling mowers and equipment parts, but I am also a computer software engineer and know how to build a computer from scratch, so I figured how hard could it be; lay out all the shipped parts, read the manual, and follow the instructions step by step. I was wrong. The manual and instructions are so confusing with unlabeled parts, different names for the same parts in the instructions, unclear notes which include using parts which were never mentioned in the step by step instructions. Prime example, figure 4.7 of this instruction manual says to use "two carriage bolts" and "two cup washers" and "two flange lock nuts" to install the hanger assembly. Then in the notes it says the carriage bolts go in the two holes and the "hex bolt" goes in the bottom hole. Where was that in the step above? And there are no more hex bolts to be used! The worst part was trying to install the discharge chute. In the instructions My ZT2 50in called for installing a "chute adapter", which is pictured but does not give any indication of how it is to be positioned. After hours of struggling and calls to tech support with ZERO guidance, it seems the chute adapter was not needed on the ZT2 50, or at least i was able to fit my chute discharge without it. There was no way this was going to fit with that piece of plastic in the way. I wasted a minimum of 5 hours dealing with this one step, trying all different combinations and finally got it connected without the adapter which the instruction say is needed for the ZT2 50!! I was told by multiple tech support people that the manuals are terrible and because there are multiple versions of a product they get the instructions wrong. Thanks for your accurate and detailed instructions and wasting my time!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Huge design flaw In general I am happy with the bagger, but for amount I paid the hinge design was just incredibly poor. There is a 36" rod, with no real end constraints to keep it centered on the hood. I fixed it by cutting away some plastic and adding 2 push nuts for nearly nothing. Come on, for this amount of money, you open and close the hood how many times in a cut or a lifecycle? This should have given a little more thought.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The triple bagger [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I read a lot of bad reviews on this triple bagger A lot of people said that it was not good. That the tube clogs up, But I've had nothing but excellent experience with it. It hasn't clogged up on me not one time. I recommend anybody that haves the club cadet. and a big yard, to invest in one of these triple baggers for the 54 inch.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bagger dosent stayed closed [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have to get off my mower every couple miniutes to re close the bagger hood. I really wish I never installed this. The problem seems to be both the rod that keeps the hood on and the plastic tab ment to lock it. The rod is too short to fully lock and the plastic tab barley locks at all. I regret spending 700 on this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Went together great Picked up this unit even though the dealer advised it wouldn’t fit my zt1 54 (good on them for following the book) but I trusted the reviews ans it bolted on perfectly, and straight. I have yet to use it, if it is like anything else cub cadet makes it’ll be a great product, I’ll update my review if it works poor, but for you zt1 owners, no need to stick with a double bagger

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works GREAT! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this along with a ZT2-50 mower several weeks ago. The dealer did the installation. This unit works very well, collecting everything that's mowed. The 3-bag capacity allows long mowing times between emptying. No complaints.....My lawn has never looked better!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good if you only want to catch some of your grass [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bagger works ok, but the lid comes unlatched every time you hit a bump and then the grass clippings don’t stay in the bagger. Would be very simple for cub cadet to add a clip on the left hand side as well, rather than a rod that doesn’t hold the lid in place

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Triple bagger for CC ZT2 Ultimate [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's a lot of money, but to me it's worth every penny. Install was easy enough. Works everytime so far, no clogs, except when I don't dump soon enough, I think after a while I'll get to know when by experience, but the lawn looks better than ever.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works Good if You Don't Ask Too Much [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Easy to assemble/install. Plenty of volume in bags but still not too heavy to handle when full. Hose is easy to swamp/plug with even mildly damp clippings or if you attempt to mow down for than around 1/2" or so per pass at moderate speed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Zero stars! I bought this a month ago. It was missing 1 piece from the hitch bracket assembly. We called Cub Cadet, they said it would be shipped right away, but would take 3-5 days in shipping. WRONG - We received the part 9 days later and it was the wrong part. Called again - took 3 days and many hours to get through only to be insulted and put on hold for 45 minutes until someone else picked up the phone. Ordered the part again - took 6 days to get it. The whole bagging system is junk! The plastic on the lid is very cheap, the right side tab to hold the top closed is extremely hard to use. The hinge pin is too short and vibrates itself loose, so the cover does not stay tight and you, as the driver are covered with grass - even inside your clothes. To take off the bagger, you need to lay on the ground to unscrew the clevis pin. Doesn't even pick up all the cuttings. This whole thing is an extremely poor design. Unfortunately 3 of the big tractor companies use the same thing or I would return the tractor along with this expensive piece of garbage.
