Great cut. Smooth running.
Bought this in April 19. Reviews seemed above all other brands. So far has lived up to what it says. My yard grows fast so using it every 4 to 5 days it has done well. I live on a hill so it pushes easy. I've had one that gave you a work out. The only problem I see is the grass catcher door doesn't seem to have a strong spring to hold the door. I don't use the bagger until fall. Other than that buy it.

JUNK, NO FUEL FILTER FROM FACTORY! mower died
Poorly designed in many ways. Hope they fired whoever designed this. No fuel filter so likely let garbage into carb and now have to tear apart carb to try to get it running again. The side discharge was eaten by the mower within the first few months. It just sits under mulching flap so it falls out every time you bump something and eventually will end up under mower and chewed up. They also made the fuel cap stick up higher than the top shroud so it catches on things. Nothing but problems with this, it is a piece of garbage avoid Cub Cadet mowers. This was my first and it will be my last.

Great product
I just purchased the Signature Cut 159 cc push mower. Out of the box, gased it up (non ethanol) added my oil, included, set it up, first pull started, pull was easy. Very easy to push. Love it. Good exercise with ease.

Discharge is terrible
Mower cuts and runs well. I spend as much time cleaning clogs out as I do mowing. Has the supposed high lift blades. Tried to research a fix and all I see is I’m mowing wrong after 46 years of no discharge problems!! Will not buy another one

Exellent Basic Mower
Bought mower in July of 17. Fantastic mower! Always starts 1st. pull. Easy to change oil. Runs way quieter than mower it replaced. Really only use for trim work around trees so don't use bagger. Do yourself a favor and ONLY USE ethanol free fuel in your small engines! A bit expensive but well worth it. Another welcome Cub Cadet addition to garage!

Front end dropped
This is only my third year of using my SC100 CC. While mowing the front end dropped down into the grass. Flat down. The mower height bar broke. I NEVER use it. Set once, and left it. In order to replace the piece that adjusts the mower height I have to change the entire front axle, which is embedded in a plastic fitting, and won't come out. There was no reason and no sense in that piece breaking.

Great push mower
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this a month ago. I have used it 4 times so far using both bagging and mulching. I have a few small hills and obsticals that I do not use my rider to cut. I love the front wheel drive going up the incline makes cutting much easier. It is light weight which is perfect for me! I tried the deck cleaning and it did not work like I had expected. It left a lot of grass under the deck that I had to remove by hand. Overall I am very happy with my first Cub Cadet purchase.

Not what I wanted
I have used this machine for one summer.
Pros: (1) Very easy to start (at least when it is still new); (2) The height of the handle can be adjusted.
Cons: (1) The engine is not powerful (clippings do not spread but form chunks, especially when they are wet). (2) The trail shield is poor quality and made of cheap material - it is too soft and can easily tuck inside. (3) The side discharge design is unergonomic (I have to bend my body to a very low position in order to be able to see whether or not the two hooks of the side discharge cover are securely attached to the mulch cover hinge pin. (4) The deck wash is not useful. When the deck's underside is dirty, I still have to tilt the machine sideway and hose it directly instead of using the deck wash mechanism.

One pull start is excellent!
I bought my 159cc push mowere at an authorized dealer rather than a box store. First pull start and ran perfectly for 2 months. Two weeks ago pulled and pulled and nothing happened. Checked the oil, fuel, filter, all good. My motorhead cousin took a look and it fired with a squirt of starter fluid and immediately stopped. Back at the dealer's for 5 days and they told me dirt in the tank got pulled into the carburetor. Same fuel that's in my car and the riding mower. I can't argue with their find because they were kind enough to save a sample to show me. I asked why the fuel filter didn't catch it and got a vague answer. I'm very unhappy to have a $70 repair bill on a brand new mower! I hope Cub Cadet considers a redesign on their next model. We sold them where I worked several years ago and they're an extremely reliable machine.

Thoroughly Disgusted
This is the 3rd year I have had this mower. The guaranteed 3 pull start is what sold me.
I cannot remember a time when this mower started in less than 3 pulls. I take expensive biologic medicine for rheumatoid arthritis and have had 5 hour surgeries on both shoulders. My hands are bad due to multiple surgeries on both hands. I need a mower that is constantly acting up like I need a hole in my head. Very disappointed and angry too.

Great push mower

Because it has been sucha great push mower, and has been much better than other brands that I've owned, I bought a Cub Cadet XT1 riding mower when we moved to a new property that had a much larger lawn to mow. I have kept this push mower for tight spaces and for my dog yard.

Clogs

BUT when trying to bag the grass it constantly clogs. Even if the grass isn't that long it clogs after 2 minutes of mowing so I'm constantly stopping to clear the clog.

Undependable just after warranty expires
Had this mower for three years, only mowing during the summer months (I don't live in Florida). Put in fresh gas and it was working for about a month. One day it wouldn't turn over after just using it the day before. Smelled gas and repairman said there was gas in the air filter and in the oil. Did a carborater overhaul because he said the needle was corrupted by the poor gas and dirt got in there. Took it home and wouldn't start again. Took it back. Started and the repiar man said he let it run for an hour. Picked it back up. Didn't turn over. But I cleaned the spark plug and was able to cut grass. Afterward no longer starts. A real exercise in frustration. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS MOWER. I refuse to load this thing up for yet another evaluation. Am junking it and buying another brand. Get the cheapest mower you can buy, run it until it dies, and then buy another. There is no quality today and the repair people just can't seem to fix it.

Will not start.....

One of the first rule in lawn maintenance is the freaking mower must run! I thought Cub Cadet stood behind their products. That is not the case.

Just as good as any.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this in May of 2019. I had to take in for maintenance due to not starting up this season. Spent $45. The height is not adjustable for one side only but both. Make sure to remove all the fuel by the time the season ends.

Easy-start
Being a senior citizen, I need an easy-start mower to use for trimming. Never had to pull it hard and never more than 2 pulls. I use high-test gasoline with stabil added. I also have the wheeled string trimmer with the same kinda mower - no problem with either . . .
