Proud Owner of a Cub Cadet
We recently purchased property on a lake. I have never owned or really had the need for a riding mower. We did our research and decided on the Cub Cadet. We purchased form a small local dealer and couldn't be more happier with the service and performance. Its one of those purchases in life worth doing right "you get what you pay for" Cub Cadet owner for life !

Must be great!
With the few times I've gotten to mow in the past weeks, I really enjoy using my XT1. My son now volunteers without asking or my wife (wow) has been mowing as much as anyone! Great turning radius and feels like power steering. I also have a smaller engine than my JD L120 and I can't tell any difference.

The seat safety switch is way too sensitive!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this 6 weeks ago and I'm still proud of it dispite the overly sensitive seat safety switch. It has three hours on it but at least an hour of that was spent attemping to link to Cub Connect, which I finally did. I love the app so far. After mowing for 2 hrs I can definetly say this thing really throws the grass out from under the deck better than any of my previous mowers including Murray, Snapper, or John Deer. However if you rise from the seat for just a very slight moment the kill switch function so quickly the entire mower shuts down. Also don't leave the push button key in the switch as it runs the battery down if the engine is not running.

Great lawn tractor
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After two years I could not be happier with this lawn tractor. I mow a 3/4 acre lot at least twice a week and have never had a problem. It cuts fast and even. I like the wash out feature for the mower deck, and the fact that I can mow in reverse. I bought the tractor online and had it delivered to the house. The hardest part of assembling it was getting it out of the crate, very sturdy package. In my opinion it's the best value in small lawn tractors. I will buy another when this one gives up the ghost, if I live that long.

Saves me lots of time
I recently purchased the LT42 model and happy to report it has saved me hours of grass cutting and as a bonus is fun to use. It's built way beyond my expectations. It's solidly made yet the ride is comfortable. The high back rest on the seat makes it easy on the back, steering is spot on and it starts easily.
I would definitely recommend buying and using the LT42 for those of you considering a lawn tractor. Oh yes, the price of this tractor isn't too bad either. I love using it!

Blown engine after 3 1/2 years.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased a cub cadet because my dad had one and it lasted for twenty+ years. Unfortunately the one I purchased blew up less than a year outside of warranty (and I even purchased the additional warranty through the store). Yes, I check the oil regularly. When the engine seized it dumped a good amount of oil on my yard. I checked into replacing just the engine but the cost of the engine alone aftermarket is almost as much as a new tractor! As a retiree with a mechanical engineering degree, the defective engine is likely due to a quality control issue in the manufacturing. Needless to say I am extremely disappointed in the product. When it was running I liked the features and the way it cut. I can’t afford to buy a new tractor every four years though.

Horrible!
I've owned this thing less than a year. I took it to get serviced because it wouldn't start. The dealer cleaned the carburetor and it started again. After mowing 1/2 acre 3 times it will not start again. This is the without a doubt the biggest piece of junk I've ever seen let alone purchased.

Problems!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Had this mower for two years, first year it was good, belts jump off the mower deck weekly even after replacing them. Second year the battery dies. After replacing it found that the battery was leaking. Had to replace all the battery connections and redo the ground. Now last week it stopped moving, and there is oil dripping from the axle. Called cub cadet and got the run around that it might not be under warranty. Would not buy from them again if this is the way your treated.

Great Mower
I bought my mower in the spring and after using it all summer I can say that it is a really great mower. I had a John Deere before this one and the Club Cadet is much better for me because it is not as far of the ground. Being a Senor citizen who is disabled this mower is a lot easer to get on and off.

Cub Cadet - XT1 LT42 EFI
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this 4 weeks ago. My home is on corner lot in our subdivision with a step hill. This riding mower has been great. The only issue I would like to see fixed is the ability to wash underneath. The hose connection does not do the job. I have to get on hands and knees with a floor jack to truly clean the underside of the mower. Blue tooth connection is fun and information good to track with software.

18 HP Motor a no no
I have a XT1 with the Kohler 18 HP motor. Picking the 18 HP was a big mistake. If I let the grass go a week, it struggles to cut without having to slow down. This is frustrating as you would think the tractor manufacturer would make sure the motor can digest the condition it is going to be working in.
I don't have issue with the tractor itself, just the motor. You need to buy at a minimum a 20 HP motor. Don't make the mistake I did.

Awesome Ride
I do enjoy the ride my Cub Cadet has and the steering is great, only draw back is it is a lot louder than my other rider I had for 20 years, and the manual that came with it was a old one. I do like how you can hook up a hose to clean under the deck after cutting the grass.

Great Mower form my half acre.

I am amazed at the tight turning radius. This mower has plenty of power for what I need. Does well maneuvering my yard, which has a hills and uneven terrain.
I installed Bluetooth Maintenance Meter to track the hours in my phone and keep the maintenance records. Easy to do maintenance, the only cons I found was the Deck went rusty after 1 year, but I made a treatment and it looks like new.

The rear bagger is terrible. After replacing it twice, I'm still having the same problems. The lid opens without me knowing and shoots grass all out the side and on my back. The 1st bag didn't seat right so I exchanged it for another one. I'm not sure if this problem is because the lid is very light or not, but it is definitely a problem. Makes me wish I had gotten a different brand.

Terrible deck. Terrible dealer service.
I purchased this mower locally from a "Cub dealer". The mower was delivered without having been checked out. The deck was not properly aligned or level. Dealer had to bring back to shop and should have leveled the deck. After trying to cut the grass again I checked and found that the basic steps to align and level the deck had not been performed. (Tire pressure was well over recommendation.)
Very disappointed with this product.

Excellent choice
After 2 months of use I cannot find anything to not be happy about. This is my 5th rider (2nd Cub) and it was the perfect match for our 1/2 acre mostly flat yard. We have had an unusually wet spring and at times the grass got really tall but even with the mulching kit this machine had no problem making the yard look great. It is easy to drive, takes little effort to steer, and has plenty of power. I am very happy with this purchase.

Great Mower
Kohler engine has plenty of power--it will mow up the slopes between the parts of my yard with no problem. The turn radius is extremely tight. The procedure to cut in reverse is easy to use but has the necessary step to prevent accidentally turning it on. I had my wife try it and she likes it so much that she wants one of her own since it is so easy to use compared to her slightly smaller tractor from another manufacturer.

Has what we were looking for
We haven't had our Cub Cadet for that long and only got a few mowings in before the weather turned cold and rainly, but the few times that we have used it, we have been very happy with the results. We we using a 20 year old mower before we finally broke down and bought a new one. The new features that are available are amazing. We are very thankful that we chose Cub Cadet and looking forward to a full season of mowing.

Love my new Cub Cadet
I am a 76 year-old woman who appreciates the comfortable seat, the short turn ratio, the ease in steering AND the cute yellow color! My former lawnmower, unlike my new Cub Cadet, was slow and had an uneven mowing deck...I also like the speed of the mower. I have cut my mowing time almost in half. The only negative thing I can say is the mower is too loud. I always wear ear plugs, however, so this is not a real problem.

Does its job but could use a few tweaks
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got this one 1.5 years ago to replace an older Cub Cadet 1040/42". This newer one is easier to drive but makes large grooves in my yard around my trees. When turning, the front outer tire digs a groove around my trees. My 1040 didn't do this but this XT1 does. Not sure why. I've tried going slower and faster around trees to no avail. Other than that, it does the job.
