Will not stop going forward
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This review is for the Pro Z 500 (700) 54in cut.
Time on mower (500) about 120 hours. I am the original owner, purchased new.
Had the Pro Z to the dealer more than once for this same problem.
When mower was new it stopped in either direction, no problem.
Then, it quit reliably stopping going forward.
Took it to dealer, 3 mo. later, after waiting for parts, they declared it fixed.
Drove it at the dealer, stopped fine, forward and reverse.
Brought it home, after about 1 1/2 hours of mowing, same problem.
It still stops in reverse, but when you take you foot off the forward, it just keeps rolling for a while, and you have to get your foot on the reverse pedal in a HURRY !
I have now torn up a gate, a porch corner, a mail box post, and ran over hills more than once before getting it stopped.
I bought to use on lawns with small hills, but you really have to be ready to use reverse to stop you, - and super careful around objects.
Everything else about the mower is pretty good, cuts and climbs hills very good,
but when I take my foot off the pedal, I expect to stop.
I also have a 1998 Toro walk-behind, w/ Velky, that still does fine on the same yards.
