Should be standard. Shame on Cub Cadet
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Works fine but Cub Cadet should refund everyone who had to purchase one of these because it didnt come as standard equipment. An hour meter is crucial to standard maintenance. No idea why they decided to stop putting them on these expensive machines other than a money grab.

Terrible shipping speed.
I ordered this item on July 11th and it is now July 24th. I can't even say this item was a good invement because it still hasn't arrived. I paid $13.98 for faster shipping and still nothing. Find a dealer that had it in stock because ordering from the website is terrible and tracking your shipment gives no updates at all.

Should have been included from factory

This is my one of 3 mowers I use to keep out 10 acres mowed. But as I replace the others they will be with the ZT1 60 inch.

Hour Meter Kit

Wasn't going to let a minor part make me choose another brand. Installation was quick and simple.

Important maintenance reminders for your engine
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Must have for your engine life and maintenance, in my opinion the engine hour timer is one of the best way to remind you when to change your oil and periodically check your components. Preventive maintenance is the key to longevity of your engine and the whole mower.

A breeze to install
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] You can peel back and replace the sticker that comes with the kit or just carefully cut the existing sticker. I just cut the square sticker space out. Took less than 10 minutes to install and works like a charm. Way better then me manually tracking oil change times.

Easy install, works great.
Easy to install. Easy to read. Double-check orientation before putting everything back together; I put the meter in upside down. I knew it was a possibility from YouTube videos and other reviews, so I checked before I put everything back together. As others said, I'm surprised it wasn't included in the device.

Will not work after installation
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought my ZT1 two weeks ago and was surprised that it didn’t have an hour meter or a deck wash attachment. I went ahead and purchased the hour meter and after watching a few videos I installed it with relative ease. Unfortunately the system does not work.

Great mower but it should have an hour meter
I bought the club cadet 54 inch right off the bat. I loved it it’s a Cadillac compared the snapper 48 inch I had before but the only thing I do not like it did not come with an hour meter on it. It should’ve came with one right out of the factory, so the customer knows when to change the oil and all that.

Ultimate Hour Meter Kit
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This hour meter kit is very easy to install. The wiring connections are already under the panel so just simply plug it in. Check the YouTube installation video for help orienting the display right side up. It can go in either way.

Critical to all equipment

Where is the Hour Meter?
I just got the ZT1 delivered yesterday. I can’t believe Cub Cadet does not install an hour meter on a machine that cost as much as I paid. Why do I have to pay extra for an hour meter and install myself if I want to know exactly when I should maintain this beauty of a machine?

Perfect meter

It works, but be careful to orient it correctly.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It works well and was reasonably easy to install, instructions notwithstanding. I was not expecting how small the display was, but it's readable. As expected, it's tough to see in direct sunlight. Unfortunately it's possible to install the meter upside down - there is no indication of which way to pop the meter into the cutout. I had to connect all the wiring and power the mower in order to determine the "top" of the meter, then disconnect everything again to install it. I was also surprised I had to replace the switch label to accommodate the new meter. It seems that a removable plastic cover could have been installed originally, which could be popped out when people install the meter. Then there would be no confusion, no potential for misaligning the new label (which I did) and no need to print multiple labels in the kit. Of course, the BEST thing would be to include the hour meter with the mower so users wouldn't need to buy and install it in the first place.

Plug and Play Straight out of the Box

Nice and easy hour meter

Easy install
Easy install. I didn't use the new decal that came with it. Just trimmed decal around existing plug,removed dummy plug, then snapped the hour meter into place. Had it installed in about 5 minutes. Not sure why these are not installed at the factory.
